It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you believe about that, you’ll do things differently. -Warren Buffet
If more companies — specifically online sportsbooks and casinos — followed this advice, betting online would be much more enjoyable…and much less stressful.
I would wager that BetOnline wishes that they did. They’ve made decisions a couple of years ago that’s probably cost them tens of thousands of thousands, maybe even millions of dollars, due to lost business from poor PR.
We are going to be sharing some cases of those with you in our inspection. Because while we wholeheartedly suggest BetOnline to our visitors — and believe that now they are a safe and legit gaming company — we think you have the right to know the entire story before deciding to play with here.

WHAT DID BETONLINE DO?
2019 MAIN REVIEW
CASINO & SKILL GAMES
First Things First: What Can BetOnline Do You?
What just did BetOnline do to make a lot of people mad?
We believe that a better question is this: what didn’t they do?
BetOnline’s poor choices crosses the spectrum of shady behavior, which range from telling likes to withholding money to getting poor security.
There are loads of examples we could show you. But LegitGamblingSites.com has already done the work for us. They discovered several examples, which you can see for yourself on their BetOnline review.
Here’s our TL;DR variant:
BetOnline Told a Fib
When BetOnline first introduced their poker product, they lied about what network it was around. They claimed to be about the Hero Poker Network, though they were actually about the Action Poker Network. There were also stories about the way they had been on the Chico Poker Network, but then were kicked off.
Later reports (in BetOnline) indicated that things were nice and mended, which BetOnline had been (and still is) about the Chico Poker Network.
Odd thing to enjoy, eh? (Although we might lie too if we were on a shoddy network such as Action.)
Everyone agrees that BetOnline lying was a stupid move and a lousy approach to market a new item. It doesn’t instill confidence. And it makes you wonder: why would they lie about something so trivial in the first place?
$60,000 Confiscated for No Reason
There have already been many, MANY reports about BetOnline confiscating money from customers. The reasoning was almost always because the customer supposedly cheated, although no evidence was ever provided from BetOnline (in the examples we’ve read).
1 case that caught our attention was of a pro who had $60,000+ confiscated because BetOnline said he cheated. They refused to send him his palms, but did offer to send him the hand histories which showed him jobless (for proof).
He got them though. What he did get was vacant promises about the way they had been on the way, and also the runaround when they never showed up. They eventually told him they could not send him the hand histories because the files were too large.
(Anybody who knows anything about online poker and hand histories — let alone about downloading files to your computer — knows what a crock this is. And, why wouldn’t you send proof someone cheated in case you have nothing to hide?)
Finally Sportsbook Review (SBR) got involved and assisted the participant get his cash back. His last update mentions being relieved about the way it worked out for himbut also said the same thing happened to his friend.
Chip Dumping $50 Means You Owe BetOnline $30,000+
In this case the player didn’t anything wrong — he chip-dumped into his buddy. But here’s the kicker:
He also chip-dumped to his buddy at a HEADS UP table at which nobody else would be hurt. He did it his buddy could have an additional $50 to play with at BetOnline.
The humorous part is that they were playing from precisely the exact same house at the time. Most sites wouldn’t even let two individuals from the exact same IP address sit down at exactly the exact same table but BetOnline did.
The person had his account suspended (far after the fact, whereas most websites would’ve captured it much earlier ), which no disputes or thinks was a wrong move on BetOnline’s part. What IS though, is how they wanted to also take his 37,000 he earned since that incident.
Forum members indicated that most legit sites would not have allowed two individuals from the same IP to sit at the same table. And, if they did, as soon as they suspected chip dumping had happened, the participant’s accounts would come under review. He’d never have the opportunity to earn the $37,000.
But now that he did, BetOnline desired it. Buttechnically, the cash should go to whomever was hurt by this player’s activities (which was no one). So it is absurd BetOnline believes they should be able to keep it.
BetOnline Knows Your Passwords
The last example we want to share is a case where a BetOnline rep outed the way the staff knew their client’s passwords and login amounts. You can see the live chat log in here.
The original poster has a good point. If everyone in the company has access to your login information, what’s stopping them from running a VPN, logging into account and accepting your money?
The BetOnline rep didn’t have a good answer, only a”ha ha ok sir.”
Scary stuff. Scroll down the discussion thread and you’re going to see even more examples. It is ridiculous.
What’s even more absurd is the way these examples are a drop in the bucket compared to the sheer number of (similar) complaints . A quick Google search for”BetOnline scams” will keep you busy.
Then BetOnline Does One Funny: They Acquire SportsBetting.ag
During the exact same time BetOnline was fighting, SportsBetting.ag was unable to. They were struggling to pay their customers.
Thent a couple of months after a story broke — BetOnline obtained SportsBetting.ag.
The crazy part wasn’t so much the acquisition, it was the fact that BetOnline also consented to be on the hook for all of the current and past payouts. Even after all of their stingy-like shenanigans.
An excerpt from SBR:
Most of all, the new investment team is dedicated for SportsBetting.ag winners paid at a more expedited manner.
“The new shareholders unconditionally guarantee past and future payouts from SportsBetting.ag,” the rep said. “But since there’s a large backlog of pending payouts, they need to be run through various fraud checks, fulfilled and guaranteed. Once the backlog is complete, customers will experience radically enhanced payouts thanks in part to upgraded payment options, including same day options.”
No one knows precisely how much BetOnline had to make in previous payments. In reality, BetOnline was reportedly”shocked” for over $1.5 million in liabilities that wasn’t reported by the prior direction. I think it’d be safe to presume that the previous debts exceeded $1.5 million — and apparently BetOnline has paid it all off.
What Does That Mean for BetOnline in 2019? What Does That Mean for You?
Frankly, we have had difficulty finding anything negative to report about BetOnline from over the past year or so.
There are some complaints; normal stuff all companies face that we’ll address later on in our inspection when it is logical. But it looks to us like the majority of BetOnline’s problems are over.
They even have satisfied clients, if you’re able to believe it.
Now, what exactly does that mean to you? Should you forget and forgive? Are they secure enough for one to join, make a deposit and playwith? We’ll be honest — there’s no way we would have played BetOnline back in 2011-2012 when we had heard or known about any of those reports previously. Nobody in their right mind could. You’d be safer light your cash on fire.
And we don’t wish to downplay the errors they’ve made. Lying, making baseless accusations, withholding funds and insecure applications isn’t to be dismissed.
But as buying SportsBetting.ag and incorporating new management to oversee operations, things have improved drastically. So much so we’re comfortable today urging them to our subscribers.
And it is not only us. If you look at other BetOnline reviews, you will see similar thought processes. In most cases the reviewers condemned them for their actions (in 2011-2012) and recommended NOT playing there, simply to have a change of heart once they saw how much BetOnline changed.
So, here is where we stand on the matter —
BetOnline has made mistakes and is far from an ideal sportsbook, poker room or casino. They had and continue to have their own shortcomings, the most recent of which we emphasize in our review under.
But, as best as we can tell, they’ve righted their wrongs and continue to improve what they currently offer players. So we feel safe using accounts here.
It’s your responsibility to choose if you feel the same way.
2019 Main Review of BetOnline
With their past from the way, let’s jump into what’s important today — and that’s what BetOnline offers concerning banking, gambling choices and promotions.
Deposit and Cash Out Options, Fees and Time Frames
BetOnline offers a solid selection of banking options. But you’ll want to remember that what is available for you will probably be determined by your geographical area.
Let us start with their deposit choices.
Listed below are the payment methods BetOnline takes and the min/max limits for each:
Visa (Person to Person)
Person to Person
$50/$900 — BetOnline covers some fees over $300. Money Orders
$10/no Maximum Neteller
$10/no Maximum Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/no max Bank Wire
$1,000/no max Check
Check $1,500/$24,900 Diner’s Club
The biggest complaint about deposits would be their 6 percent fees for debit and credit cards. They are one of the only websites that charge for (credit/debit card) deposits. Bovada’s among those other kinds, charging 4.9 percent.
When you’re ready to cash out your winnings, then you can utilize:
Person to Person
$50/$500 — Can take 12-36 hours. Prices will run $26-$101. Bank Wire
$500/$24,900 — May take around 10 days. Prices will run $45-$75. ATM
ATM Only Card
$100/$2,500. Check By Mail
Check by Mail, Courier or Express
$500/$2,500 — Depending on which option you choose, this will take 7-30 days and will cost you $25-$50 NOT INCLUDING the fees that your bank may charge. Bitcoin
$20/$5,000 — Will charge you 2% (of the total). Skrill
$25/$9,900 — Requires around 36 hours. Only 3 requests allowed per week. Book to Book
Book to Book
$500/$15,000 — Transfers are completed within one day. Neteller
$25/$9,900 — Takes around 36 hours and will cost you $20. Just 3 payouts allowed per week.
What I don’t like is the way you’ll pay a commission for every single banking option. Even bitcoin, which is usually free at most sportsbooks and casinos. But here you are going to pay a 2% commission.
That said, I have seen firsthand reports from customers who say they’ve received payments within 10 days, bank transfers within 3 days and bank wires in 2-3 days. This is fast considering they are in the US market.
BetOnline says nothing about it in their website, but I’ve seen reports which indicate BetOnline gives you a $50 credit monthly if you put in your request on a Friday. In many cases this won’t cover the whole fee, but it is far better than nothing.
BetOnline’s Products: Just What Would You Bet On Play?
BetOnline is an”all in one” company. This means you can bet on sports, play poker and casino games.
Their longest reputation, and probably most popular solution, is their sportsbook. So let us begin there.
Bet on Sports, Horses and Financials
BetOnline offers action on horses, sports and finances.
In their sportsbook they more or less pay the most well-known sports in the US. Included in these are:
You can also wager on stocks and prop bets on these markets:
Canadian Football Cycling
Women’s Pro Basketball (WNBA)
Football One option they’ve added lately is eSports. It is no surprise really, given how fast that industry is growing. Each bookmaker is leaping on the bandwagon and offering odds on all the biggest tournaments and leagues.
BetOnline is, also, though it looks like they’re only dipping their toe in the water to check the temperature.
I say that because — as of right now — they just have moneyline odds for a single match-up / league. Compare this to Bovada who’s covering 5+ matches around about 10+ leagues/tournaments.
It is a big difference. I mean, who’d you rather go to for eSports betting?
That being said, I think that it’s a good idea to provide BetOnline the benefit of the doubt…for now. It is possible they are still attempting to find their bearings in this growing market. Perhaps they have plans to expand their eSports options in the not too distant future.
What they do have going for them is their odds on the match-up I’m comparing to Bovada. They are offering slightly better pricing for the same exact match.
There’s no way to tell whether that’s always going to be the case, nor can it matter whether they never expand this part of the sportsbook.
However, it’s reason enough to keep tabs on them.
They offer live betting also. These options change continuously, obviously, to coincide with what games or events are moving on. When I last looked they’d lines for soccer, tennis and baseball. You can also keep tabs on a couple of games simultaneously using their multi-event tab and plan for future games using their live betting calendar.
1 thing they are known for are the higher-than-average betting limits. These range from $1 to $25,000. Most markets will probably max out between $1,000 to $3,000. But it just depends. You can also raise your wagering levels by telephoning their Player Services.
Their sportsbook also runs a reasonable variety of promotions, and much more than you’ll see in their racebook and financials section combined. A few of the better options include:
50% Welcome Bonus — Get a 50% match on your initial deposit up to $2,500.50% Kickoff Reload — Get a 50% reload bonus up to $1,000. Live Bet Free Play — Get a $25 free play. This is less or more insurance — make a wager and if you lose, they’ll reimburse you around $25.
Beyond that you’ll see a list of races on their page. Each record tells you how many open races you’ll find, which when you click on it is going to expand to reveal the horses, races, jockeys and odds.
If you are unfamiliar with their site or horse gambling, a fantastic section to look through is that their racebook info tab within their own navigation. Here you’ll find information on:
Their monitor limits. This tells you the maximum you can bet per race.Payoff odds. Discover how much you’ll make in case your wager (s) win.Their rules and the types of bets you can make.Horse betting tips, FAQs and terms (in case you don’t know what a word or phrase means).
It’s a good section if you’re new to horse betting.
And that is about it. This section is much smaller than their sportsbook.
That said, their racebook does have a couple offers also, though nowhere near the quality or volume their sportsbook offers.
Here are some of these offers:
Track Rebate — Get a 7% rebate on your bets daily with no min volume or caps on how much you can make. $25 Risk Free Bet — Create a wager for the first time from the racebook. If you shed BetOnline will reimburse you up to $25.
Last up is that their financials section. Here it is possible to wager on currencies, indices and commodities. Your gambling options include touch, array, turbo and one touch. The assets/markets it is possible to wager on will depend on your wager type.
This segment looks like an afterthought. It certainly doesn’t get the attention or marketing BetOnline’s other segments do.
Their poker room is one of the most well-known options for Americans. They are a part of the Chico Poker Network, who is 13th in total traffic positions, but is 3rd for US poker websites. After I last checked they’d about 2,100 players on their site.
In 2016 BetOnline conducted a much-needed software update. In the past they had several complaints regarding the quality of their software. This included complaints about blurry graphics, bad sound and animation quality.
But following their upgrade we have seen hints that they might have a few of the greatest software in the US marketplace.
From worst to best in 1 upgrade? That might be pushing it. But based on the pictures I have seen, their software DOES look much better.
But, there are still a few places BetOnline can enhance.
At this time they have a download for PC and Macs. However, they don’t have some options for mobile players, and that we believe is a no-brainer in this era. They also only provide holdem, omaha and 7-card stud. It’d be wonderful to see more game choices.
Overall, though, it is wonderful to see they’re making improvements and are getting more aggressive with what other high tier US poker websites provide.
Speaking of which, some of their poker offers or promotions include:
Welcome Bonus — They’ll match your deposit 100% up to a max of $2,500. They cover this out to you 5 at a time. You will have 60 days to clear the deal. $50,000 GTD — They are running a $50,000 guarantee for $99. $90,000 Guaranteed — BetOnline guarantees greater than $90,000 in tournament prize pools each and every weekend.
They’ve a couple of leaderboard and cash race challenges, also.
Plus it’s not exactly a”bonus,” however, the matches here must be milder due to the US traffic and the crossover traffic from their sportsbook or casino. Making money from their poker tables should be easier here compared to other poker (just ) sites.
Casino and Skill Games
Here you will find lots of game choices ranging from table games to slots to video poker and skill games. Their games come from the Rival Gaming and BetSoft software, each of which are famous for producing topnotch games. Here’s the way their matches breakdown:

If you Encounter a Issue or have a question, you can reach out to BetOnline using one of the following options:
LIVE CHAT (for real money accounts only)
1 thing to find here are the reports I’ve seen about how BetOnline’s support is unfriendly.
1 example came from a poker player turned site reviewer. He shared his expertise, which was one of the worst I’ve heard , let alone heard about BetOnline.
Here’s an excerpt from Gaming the Odds:
Since BetOnline’s poker software is not high quality, I anticipated them to shine at client service. How else can you explain the popularity of their poker room?
Turns out I was wrong, big-time. In fact, through their live chat service (and that I just need to mention it in this BetOnline review), I had the worst customer service experience in my life so far.
Following the live chat session began, I needed to wait for a few minutes until the customer service person bothered to answer, not just entirely ignoring my question but asking for my password and username too. Can you feel comfortable entering your password and username to some live chat box? I sure didn’t.
I explained that I do not wish to enter that information into a chat area and, more importantly, the question demands no such advice because it had been about BetOnline.ag generally. I had to wait ten minutes for”help” (I use that word loosely ), while getting”Thank you for waiting. I will be with you in only a minute…” every now and then.
That said, I have also heard the opposite. A reviewer who plays on BetOnline states they offer excellent customer services. In addition, he states that your best choice is to take advantage of the live chat (only available to account holders).
Their adventures are polar opposites. This suggests to people that BetOnline may have inconsistencies with the way they manage customer care…an
