UFC 230 Occurs on Saturday, November 3, 2018 in Madison Square Garden in New York, New York.
Heavyweight winner Daniel Cormier (21-1, 1 NC, 10 KOs, 4 SUBs) will defend his title against knockout artist Derrick Lewis (21-5, 18 KOs, 1 SUBs). The card issuers reside on 10pm ET that is starting.
Just one pay-per-view following the Khabib-McGregor superfight, the UFC is providing us a heavyweight title match. Plus it just so happens to feature among UFC 229’s breakout star:”The Dark Beast” himself, Derrick Lewis. It is one thing to score a stunning, last-second comeback win in a battle you’re getting dominated. However, Lewis topped that by following this up with the funniest post-fight meeting in UFC history, on the biggest night in UFC history.
That’s one way of turning into a celebrity. And now, the one-dimensional knockout artist that never really seemed like a valid competitor is fighting for the name under a month after having a beating at the hands of Alexander Volkov. Daniel Cormier’s probably drooling at the thought of a simple paycheck. It is going to also be his first title protection.
Regardless of the UFC announcing a banger of a scrap between middleweight hulks Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa, the massive Cuban has said that the fight will not be happening. Though we hope this contest happens, we tend to trust the fighter when they stated that they’re not ready. Let us hope he heals up punctually.
If those 185-pounders don’t get it on, there are still three crazy good middleweight matchups to look forward to. The largest of these is a rematch between former winners Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman, respectively ranked No. 2 and No. 3. Perennial contender Ronaldo”Jacare” Souza matches former WSOF champ David Branch, together with both men jockeying for a name position. The division’s most exciting prospect, Israel Adesanya, sets his undefeated record on the line against No. 6 Derek Brunson. Occasionally,”The Last Stylebender” resembles the next coming of a prime Anderson Silva, and everyone is hoping that this dude is for real.

UFC 230 Betting Lines, Predictions and Picks
Here’s a weird story. In a meeting with MMAJunkie just days following the Volkov fight, Lewis came out and stated that he had no urge to headline UFC 230. That he had already started eating breakfast snacks and also his cardiovascular was nowhere near the amount it needed to be in to realistically challenge for the title.
He ended that interview by saying that it would take a giant paycheck to allow him to jump right into a title fight with one of the finest to ever do it. Later that day, Dana White announced that Lewis would be battling for the title. Sounds like someone got PAID.
However, the UFC’s greed is revealing here. Lewis was almost finished multiple times, and it was apparent he couldn’t last five rounds. Now the UFC is placing him onto a card under a month after? That is called exploiting a celebrity turn. And while we love how honorable DC is, it sure seems like he is cherry picking here.
The last time Weidman and Rockhold fulfilled, the AKA surfer boy deciphered the former All-American wrestler and took the belt from him. Time has not softened the grudge between the two, and it was a close fight up until that point. Rockhold has been pumped out two, suggesting that his brow is a serious weakness. Coincidentally, Weidman suffered two brutal knockouts as well before rebounding back against Kelvin Gastelum.
These two middleweights are good everywhere, though they have different approaches in each stage. Rockhold’s submission grappling is top notch, but Weidman is a stellar traditional wrestler. Weidman can box with the best of these, but Luke’s unorthodox kicks can do major damage.
Ronaldo Souza can not seem to catch a rest. One of the very accomplished BJJ artists to ever enter the octagon, he has been in multiple name eliminators, just to fall short in each one. Beating David Branch likely would not seal the bargain, but he can keep his name on a short list of worthy challengers. Branch could vault into the title mix by taking out the well-regarded Brazilian.
Israel Adesanya has everything required to be a star: an engaging character and what’s more, an electric fighting style. He’s obviously a exceptional striker, landing all eight limbs with extraordinary accuracy and electricity. Of course, like all great standup artists, he has to pass on the wrestler test, also Derek Brunson – a former collegiate wrestler – is more than qualified to dish that out.
